Others say the lockdown hasn't gone far enough, as some people are bending the rules.  Robert Goodwill said:"Assuming that these people on social media are not epidemiologists, or professional doctors, or people from the London School of Tropical Medicine or from Imperial College.  We must listen to the best scientific advice.

Industry figures said next year would be crucial for the sector, as companies start the process of hydraulic fracturing to extract gas trapped underground in shale rock..."

The 'fracking' presentation hosted by SBC on the 21st November open to the public was an invitation not to be missed. Frack Free Scarborough were in good form and expectations of  a pitch by a Cuadrilla,  INEOS or  any T-Rex 'fracking'  team were dashed when, the mysterious 'surprise'  presenter turned out to be the NYMNPA Director of Development, Mark Hill.    

Why Am I here? he asked.

Friends of the Earth, (FOE) have published "All that glitters..." (June 2014) stating that 'Current regulation of unconventional gas and oil exploration in England is inadequate'

FOE put forward their role;  'As part of this work, over the last three years, we have been closely tracking the regulation of the unconventional gas and oil industry in the UK' and have a local, national and international knowledge and influence base in which to help local communities.
